Can I save the digital data of the statue?

Of course I accept orders for taking pictures and also measurements for creating 3D data. We can save the data of the current appearance of the statues digitally.

I have a concrete image of a statue. Can I submit a detailed request?

I put all of your requests in the statue. Clients may be asked to put on the actual clothing for reference, or I may ask to borrow items or clothing if needed. When carving real people, I try to depict them as faithfully as possible.

I want to order a statue based on pictures / hanging scrolls
- A:

I can make pictures and paintings into statues. Their faces will be prototyped carefully before moving into the actual carving process. We might get various impressions from pictures and paintings, so we exchange our ideas and prepare carefully before carving.

I want to order memorial statue, but I only have photos of the deceased person.
- A:

I can make statues faithfully depicting the people with the reference to their pictures. We exchange ideas while prototyping and make the statues closer to the clients’ image.

I want to know about the process of production.

For statues of real people, I put importance on making it as faithful as possible to the models. Their faces will be the most important, so the prototypes will go through careful examination by the clients.

How long does it take for the statues to be completed?

It depends on their sizes and finishing, but, for a statue with a height of 60cm, for example, it will take about 2 years on average. Some statues must be ready for ceremonies, so please consult me in such cases.

The price will be calculated with the conditions below:
1. The size of the statue
2. The type of material. Sandalwood, cypress, Japanese torreya, camphorwood, Japanese zelkova are the common types of woods for Buddha statues, but the price varies depending on their types
3. If aureoles and the altars are used or not as well as their types
4. Finishing ex.)wooden surface, foiled surface, colored surface, etc.Since every statue is custom-made, it’s difficult to set fixed prices. Please consult me if you have a fixed budget.

Do you have any catalogs which I can refer to when ordering?

There are no catalogs since there are no fixed shapes. Every statue is custom made, and will be produced while consulting with clients intently. I try to meet your requests as much as possible.

How can I start ordering?

After I contact you, clients will be asked about their requests and ideas they have. I can suggest ideas if you don’t have a fixed image, so please don’t hesitate to contact me.

修復にかかる費用は、主に、以下の項目によって変動します。
①修復する御像の軀数
②御像の大きさ
②現在の御像の状態(剥落の有無、虫蝕の程度、など)
③新補部位の有無(手先、台座、装飾など、失われている箇所を新たに制作すること)
④仕上げの方法 木地、漆箔、彩色、古色など修復にあたっては、現在の御姿を尊重しながらも、仏像としての尊容を取り戻すことを基本方針としています。
修復を行うにあたっては、事前に予算などが確定している場合もあるかと思います。
その際にも、今最も御像にとって必要な処置は何か、ご依頼主様と相談を重ねていきたいと思っております。

I put importance on the appearance of the statues when they were first created, so I don’t alter their original appearance and think about how we can preserve and pass on the precious statues for the future. The structure, techniques used for them, and the damage varies depending on the statue, so please feel free to contact me.
